I have an Asus 650i motherboard and was thinking about getting the Creative Xtremegamer Fatal1ty Pro series sound card and later finding the logitech g51 speakers. i do not assume the onboard audio isnt negative. I have only two.1 speakers appropriate now. a kewl feature with my onboard audio is that i do have “virtual surround sound” so im not sure. would acquiring the sound card be worth it? i wanna hear from someone who actually knows about this stuff
even though, the virtual surround sound isnt extremely noticable
i do know of x ram. My cpu is an E6750
ok i did mention im planning to get the g51 speakers which are five.1. only right after i acquire the sound card tho
i did mention the sound card which is a fatal1ty. i mainly use my pc for gaming and graphic designing
even though the g51 are five.1, they are great speakers.

A sounds card takes the sound calculating off the CPU so it can concentrate on other issues, like calculating physics for a game.
If you have a weak CPU and you have slowdowns throughout programs that involve sound, then get a sound card. If not, then do not bother.

well, if you are using only 2.1 speaker setup, there wouldn’n really be a point in
buying a new sound card
admittedly, if you have a sound card, it will ease up pressure on the onboard audio, and therefore, speed up your computer. however, you might not notice the performance difference unless you are pushing your system often
i would advise waiting until you are ready to get a 5.1+ speaker arrangement (usually, some good retailers might offer combo deals with their sound cards)
hope this helped
